FINAL REPORT DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE ON ABORIGINAL LEARNING In November 2005, Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal leaders involved in education came together in Ottawa to discuss the parameters and framework to establish an Aboriginal Learning Knowledge Centre, one of five knowledge centres the Canadian Council on Learning is establishing. The Development Conference on Aboriginal Learning took place at the Sheraton Hotel in Ottawa, November 13-14, 2005, This event provided the opportunity for Aboriginal leaders representing First Nations, Métis and Inuit communities, as well as non-Aboriginal leaders, to explore the potential of an Aboriginal Learning Knowledge Centre in terms of research, knowledge exchange, monitoring and reporting.
